Barb and I left Port St. Lucie, Florida on a sunny, and cool morning in early January, exotic car rentals and headed across Alligator Alley to Naples Florida. We decided to check out rumors that Naples has all the best that Florida has to offer, and then some. We hoped to meet great people; enjoy great accommodations, excellent restaurants, interesting places to visit, unusual boutiques, and terrific beaches. exotic car rentals We arrived found the rumors were true!
Naples, smack on the Gulf of Mexico, is very popular with its full and part-time residents, not to mention ,visitors from around the world. Why? Well, it starts with Naples fine weather, and, like most of south Florida during the winter, it's a place to enjoy outdoor pursuits that can be done in cotton T's, while leaving the wool sweaters and long-johns in storage.
Florida has more than 2800-miles of ocean, Gulf and bay shoreline, exotic car rentals hundreds of lakes and thousands of ponds and of course the "River of Grass" The Everglades. In south Florida you can view wildlife, go fishing and boating, diving or just laying out on the beach and barbequing yourself from raw to well-done ,and all shades in between.
Naples has miles of those beaches, and they are soft, clean and beautifully welcoming. Real estate here is very desirable, and absolutely upscale-many of the part, and full time residents fly- in and out of Naples private airport in their own jets, and Ferrari's are parked here more than Volkswagens. But, anyone visiting Naples will feel the laid back atmosphere is conducive to making you feel that you belong! We found real estate in the 300-K and even less, range too, so don't despair if you want to live here too! We felt that way the week we spent there, and we don't have a jet, or a multi-million dollar home overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, or on a custom designed golf course.
exotic car rentals After visiting with Cathy Christopher ,and checking out the spa, gorgeous pool, and all the amenities you'd expect at a first rate hotel, We ensconced ourselves in luxury at the Inn on the Fifth Hotel , easily affordable by any visitor, overlooking a heated pool and right in the middle of some of the finest gift, boutique, jewelry and art shops anywhere. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention some of the very best restaurants, not only in Naples, but the whole of Florida has to offer, and all in walking distance from our hotel. Our bed was ultra comfortable, the hot tub very welcoming with the most powerful jets for massages as we ever experienced, and the staff were first rate in every way.
Cathy introduced us to owner Phil McCabe, who told us about his on-going plans just across the street from the existing Inn, to finishing up dozens of suites that will be a part of the Inn On The Fifth offerings. Parking is easy and even the valet parking is free for the convenience of hotel patrons-no parking hassles is what we always look for. Get in touch and have a blast at: www.innonfifth.com exotic car rentals or call too at: 239-403-8777. exotic car rentals At the entrance to the Inn is MCCabe's Irish Pub Grill. Philip McCabe went over to Ireland, bought a pub he liked, and moved the entire décor and design across the big "A" to Naples. He reconstructed ,what toda y is the home of the Authentic McCabe's Irish Pub Grill. Dining there made you feel like you really were back in old Ireland.
Cathy also introduced us to a few of the business owners and even a neat lady Banker, Colleen Kvetko over at the Shamrock Bank located on the beginning of the Fifth Avenue business district. She is very progressive and aware of how to make Naples a "top-of-the-mind" location for existing businesses and would-be residents. exotic car rentals We stopped by Port Royal Jewelers and met Bill and Steven who showed us Nelson Rockerfellers, platinum cats eye ring (about a $400-K investment if you like (bet you can bargain , but just a bit) and can afford really incredible exotic car rentals jewelry. They also have all kinds of less expensive bling as well. Stop in and have a mimosa and first-rate dessert cakes too!
We dined the first night of our arrival and culinary adventures at Ridgeway's Bar Grill over on Third Avenue, on chops and seafood's and had a chance to meet owner Tony Ridgeway. He told me that young folks today don't know what good food is all about, due to them being brought up on fast foods, knocked out cookie cutter fashion, and eaten "fast", mostly sans parents, so that the entire social concept of "families who eat together stay together" is passé' at best, and when not made a priority, destructive at worst. Owner, Tony Ridgeway was schooled exotic car rentals in classic French training and his menu also reflects his love for classic American traditions and passion for the freshest and best ingredients, from seasonal fruits to a wide selection of garden exotic car rentals greens, fresh caught fish to prime beef. Ridgeway's offers five distinct dining settings: an enclosed patio overlooking a lush garden with flowers, herbs and plants; an open air front porch with views of Old Naples exotic car rentals village; the main dining room where we dined and loved the ambiance, the intimate Wine Room decorated to resemble a wine cellar, and, in the evenings, the Tony's Off Third Courtyard, is transformed by entertainers performing pop, jazz, and rock tunes under-the-stars, while guests enjoy a casual bar menu and libations from their full bar.
Over the next few days we were delighted by a bevy of excellent food establishment's offering's , and each one accompanied by the histories of how they came to be located exotic car rentals in Naples. We were so impressed with the warmth and friendliness of the community, the fabulous restaurants, shops, beaches, the Botanical exotic car rentals Garden, fishing pier, walk-about's exotic car rentals in colorful and past wonderfully exotic car rentals landscaped homes and businesses, that we are considering moving there!
We met up with Frank Russen of the Englishman Gallery on 3th Street South. He introduced us to Sea Salt Restaurant. Russen runs the Englishman Gallery and also serves on the film festival board . He is known as a top art curator in Naples, with 30-years in the business. He was a joy to meet, as his enthusiasm was very catching about everything Naples, and also the Sea Salt Restaurant. Contact him and check out his incredible gallery. Go: frankrussen@embarqmail.com or call him at 239-331-0531.
Imagine a 60-foot shelf that displays dozens of different salts found all over the world. Each pastel colored salt can offer a special heightened flavor to the foods placed in front of you. Foods that are crafted with their own unique qualities, enhanced to the "max" by the artistic and artisanal use of these salts. The salts are offered in little segmented dishes, so the diner can match their dish with these flavor enhancers, as they like. These seasonings are considered just as important, as the right wine for the right meats, fish and seafood's. Barb and I really enjoyed the dishes and the service here!
Arriving in Naples, we met up with Rowan Samuels. Realtor Samuels, is part of the John R. Woods Realtors Agency. Wood's exotic car rentals Agency started in 1958, and as it reads on their business statement; that "they are the symbol of local knowledge" we found that they had all the answers to about any question we had about Naples. He also assisted us in meeting the folks that would help us get to know Naples best, as well. After all, we only had a few days to learn first-hand exotic car rentals the nature and character of this Gulf-side city, and to really get to know this multi-faceted place in the sun, would take many months or years of visiting all it has to offer. He also showed exotic car rentals us the real estate end of the city from the super-upscale, to homes more down to earth for would be home owners. exotic car rentals 1000's of botanicals, delightful water features, contemplative and dedicated exotic car rentals folks offer their feelings about Naples Botanical Gardens. Just offer a smile and be prepared to be regaled with why many of them donate their time as volunteers here. Barb and I loved this place. Everywhere we walked there were unusual and beautiful flowers, strange plants and trees we would have had to travel the world to see just one of, but here the collection allows you to see the treasures all in one place and, without stepping on an airplane. This better- than- world- class-garden, was founded in 1994 by a visionary group of local plant enthusiasts. Their mission statement: "Naples Botanical Garden is creating a world-class paradise that combines delightful, cultivated tropical gardens with beautifully restored natural habitats. The Garden aims to connect people and plants through interactive display, education, conservation exotic car rentals and science."
We met up with Maria, owner of Bellini Italian Restaurant along with her Daughter, exotic car rentals Massimo Furetta. Meeting them and hearing about their wonderful history is worth the trip, even if you don't order everything on the menu. They are so good, they don't have to advertise very much! When you are excellent, the word gets out and very quickly, everyone begins making reservations. We enjoyed a Carpaccio di Maria to start off with. Her offering starts with slender slices of raw filet mignon topped with fine shavings of parmigiano served on a bed of arugala with capers, olive oil, naturally and a lemon dressing. This Antipasti was absolutely exceptional! We also had medallions of eggplant and then tried their home-made Gnocchi with a pumpkin stuffing-yes also exceptional! We tried a few more items, but I will tell you anything here is first rate, so go try it for yourself! www.bellinionfifth.com 239-261-1117
The Seminole Tribe of Florida is the only tribe in America exotic car rentals that was never defeated by the government military. As unconquered peoples, they have had a strong bond with their heritage and never having a treaty with the U.S. Their values, determination and ability to remain steadfast are what have made them such a strong and formidable entity. They are also the tribe that paved the way for Native American Gaming over 30-years ago.
