My family booked this house for 9 days. We arrived to a dirty unkept house. Carpets were stained badly in all rooms! The kitchen had mouse droppings and the fridge had old food rotting. The house was unlockable.

The expectation, for $1000 for a 3 night get away over a holiday weekend, was for a home/cottage that would be clean, well appointed and inviting. The only things about this rental that were tolerable were the company and the view. I do not know when the pictures of this rental were taken, but they did not reflect the state of the house at the time of our lease. The kitchen was appalling, not at all ready for daily use, with mouse droppings and mold abounding. The bathrooms had stains in the sinks, hair on the floors and counters and the toilets had not been cleaned for some time. One of the bedrooms was swarmed with both live and dead flies (in November). When our children were playing in the master suite above the living room, we could clearly see the ceiling flex at least two inches from below - a major safety issue which precluded us from using that room for the duration. The carpets in all rooms were stained, and the couch was leaking stuffing. We left a day before our contract ended because we could not stand it another minute. The owner did not return the security deposit. He refuses to respond to attempts to contact him regarding the return of our $500 deposit. BE AWARE THAT YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR DEPOSIT. I am in the process of filing a lawsuit against him for this. House is awesome, except for the mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers and cabinets. It is BEAUTIFUL setting. NIGHTMARE trying to get the deposit back even when we left the property cleaner and in better shape than when we got there.
