The Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed down in Leith harbour, a couple of miles north east from Edinbu

I recently visited  The Royal Yacht Britannia  for the first time and was amazed at how fascinating I found the whole experience. Personally, I can take or leave the Royal Family but it was interesting to see the site of so many historic hotels in vero beach florida occasions, and interesting to see how the Royals hotels in vero beach florida had spent our taxes see video below .
The Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed down in Leith harbour, a couple of miles north east from Edinburgh city centre. I d recommend getting a bus down to Leith rather than walk. Many of the open-top tour buses stop at the Royal Yacht.
The Royal Yacht Britannia was built specifically for Queen Elizabeth II at the John Brown Co dockyards in Clydebank. The Queen herself launched the boat in 1953. For the next 44 years the yacht was use by the Queen, her family and British dignitaries to transport them on visits hotels in vero beach florida around the world and around the UK in fact, The Royal Yacht Britannia made 696 foreign visits and 272 British visits.
By touring the yacht you gain a glimpse into the Royal way of life. Tour guides will take you through the whole ship, from the engine rooms at the bottom, through the living quarters above, and on to the impressive deck space on top. Each level and room has its own intriguing story to tell. You may be surprised at the style of furnishing and fittings chosen by the Queen for her boat I was.
In 1997 the Royal Yacht was finally hotels in vero beach florida decomiisoned hotels in vero beach florida by the new Labour government as a cost-saving exercise. A competition was held for towns and cities across the UK to have the chance to host the yacht as a tourist attraction. Edinburgh won the competition and the yacht has been permanently moored here ever since.
Once you have visited The Royal Yacht make sure to take a look around hotels in vero beach florida Ocean Terminal next door. Ocean Terminal is a large shopping mall containing some excellent restaurants with views out over the water at Leith. There s also a 12-screen cinema in the complex, so there s loads to see and do after you ve had a tour of the Royal Yacht.
