The family trust filed for bankruptcy protection in November and initially listed the property on the commercial real estate market in January for $8.5 million.
Brighton owns the Holiday Inn Express and the Four Points by Sheraton vacation rentals italy hotels in Ventura. It bought the Country Inn Suites in Port Hueneme recently and Marriott s Courtyard in Oxnard last month, and it added the Hilton Garden Inn in Valencia. It also manages Marriott s Residence Inn in Oxnard.

Schaefer said Brighton s plans are to bring romance back to Pierpont so it can again be a major player in its traditional market of weddings. It plans to first update the guest rooms with newer bathrooms and luxury bedroom furniture, add flowers outside and renovate the restaurant menu by adding more variety.
Once renovated, Brighton will position the hotel in the upper-midscale to lower-luxury spot in the market, which in terms that most people recognize vacation rentals italy would be three or four stars, Schaefer said. Prices will range from $120 a night offseason to $150 a night in season.
The company has a positive outlook for the Pierpont because the hotel market has proved robust for Brighton, Schaefer said. The Holiday Inn and the Sheraton have had a more than 70 percent annual average occupancy over the past two years, he said.
